Resin Bonded Gravel

Sturgeon's resin bonded gravel system is the solution where a superior finish and high durability is required.  Using a wide range of natural aggregates bonded to the tarmac we can produce an extremely tough, low maintenance, highly attractive surface for use in almost any type of project.  Ideal for old or new, traditional or contemporary buildings, Sturgeon's resin bonded gravel will enhance new or existing driveways, footpaths, courtyards, parks and roads.  All Sturgeon's resins have BBA certification which means that they have been tested and approved for use in severe environments.  Developed to adhere to tarmac and concrete, it is extremely tough and will minimise scuff marks and wear from power steering and other high stress areas.

Resin bonded gravel is suitable where an anti-slip texture is required or where exact detailing is required i.e. steps, against/around buildings, drainage, slabs and cobbles etc.  Little or no maintenance is required after application of Sturgeon's resin bonded gravel. The system leaves very little loose material (unlike conventional surface dressing).  The process involves application of a liquid two-part resin on to the tarmac / concrete surface followed by the spreading of the natural aggregate. Once the resin is set any excess aggregate is swept off leaving a layer of aggregate bonded to the surface.  The system is typically 4-6mm thick.
